ISTANBUL’74 in collaboration with CLUBHOUSE BEBEK presents the “From Material to Meaning” exhibition through 10 January 2025.

The relationship between art and surface is a profound dialogue that stretches back to the dawn of humanity. From the earliest figures etched onto the cave walls of Altamira to the elegant canvases of the Renaissance and the modern experiments with surfaces such as fabric and ceramics, the surface has always been both the starting point and the companion of the artist’s creative process.

Featured in this exhibition, artists Renin Bilginer, Ertuğrul Güngör & Faruk Ertekin, Tom Fellows, Özer Toraman, and Serkan Yüksel each engage with these diverse materials, exploring the boundaries of artistic expression in unique ways.

FLAGS FOR FUTURE was launched in 2016, with the artist Jean-Charles de Castelbajac @jcdecastelbajac as the Godfather of the project, it has since grown into an international project with over 50 artists.

Day 1 of Flags for Future at D’Puglia, The Standard Miami, presented by ISTANBUL’74 in collaboration with UTÖPIA, set sail under the theme “Va’ dove ti porta il vento” (“Go Where the Wind Takes You”), during Art Basel Miami, December 1-8, 2024.
