#74ArtsAndCultureNews — Desert X’s fifth edition of the site-specific, international art exhibition is now on view from March 8 – May 11, 2025 at sites across the Coachella Valley. Curated by Artistic Director Neville Wakefield and Co-curator Kaitlin Garcia-Maestas.

The exhibition reflects on the desert’s deep time evolutions reframing ideas and wilderness and exploring themes of Indigenous futurism, design activism, colonial power asymmetries, the impress of humanity on the land and the role of emerging technologies in our contemporary society.

#74Picks — Each week the renowned fashion designer Bella Freud invites a special guest to ‘lie on the couch’ and explore the connection between fashion and identity.

Bella’s conversations begin with questions about style and what we reveal through the clothes we wear. Bella also shares her own anecdotes and the conversations expand into deeper discussions on life’s universal themes—love, identity, culture, anxiousness, and even politics.

A whimsical new museum designed by acclaimed architect and designer @indiamahdavi!

#74ArtsAndCultureNews 🌈 Inaugurated last week in Norway, @pomo_trondheim leverages the Iranian-French architect’s fantastical understanding of design to envision a dynamic future for the city’s modern and contemporary art scene.

India Mahdavi has transformed a former Art Nouveau post office and put her characteristic maximalist spin on the new contemporary art museum in Trondheim.

“It’s a larger-than-life fantasy that has become reality,” says Ole-Robert Reitan, who founded PoMo (short for “Posten Moderne”) with his former wife, Monica Reitan.
