DELFINA DELETTREZ FENDI
Delfina Delettrez Fendi is a designer and jeweler based in Rome. She founded her company, Delfina Delettrez, in 2007. Since the inception of her brand, she has developed a signature perspective using a wide material vocabulary, manifested in her use of surrealist and natural iconography including hands, eyes, bees, and lips. She has one store in Rome located on via del Governo Vecchio. She is the youngest designer to join the permanent collection of fine jewelry at the Louvre’s Musée des Arts Decoratifs in October 2010. In June 2012, gallery Antonella Vil- lanova featured a solo exhibition in Florence entitled “Delphinarium”, a comprehensive look at Delettrez’ path as a jeweler. In December 2012, a solo exhibition of Delfina Delettrez was showcased by Antonella Vil- lanova gallery at Design Miami/ 2012.

THE NEW ART, FASHION AND DESIGN GALLERY OF ISTANBUL’74 OPENS DOORS WITH THE FINE JEWELRY EXHIBITION OF DELFINA DELETTREZ
ISTANBUL’74, is opening doors to a new gallery space in Galatasaray, a neighborhood valued for its significant historical heritage, carrying the most distinctive characteristics of city’s artistic and cultural back- ground. The second gallery space is nestled in Nese Apartment, also known by its original name Mizzi, which happens to be one of the most authentic buildings of Beyoglu.
The opening of ISTANBUL’74-Galatasaray will take place on the 12th of June, with the fine jewelry exhibition of a fourth generation Fendi heiress, Delfina Delettrez, and will feature the designer’s 2014 Spring-Summer Collection titled “Never Too Light”. The designer’s eponymous brand is known for its bold, gothic and playful collections combining organic materials with polished metals and precious gem- stones.
Known for her signature surrealism-tinged style, Delettrez is the youngest designer to join the permanent collection of fine jewelry at the Louvre’s Musée des Arts Decoratifs in October 2010. Never too Light collection to be exhibited at the opening of ISTANBUL’74’s new gallery space, is designer’s first exhibition in Turkey.
A surreal collection emphasizing the idea of timelessness: Never Too Light
As stressed with her statements “never too late” and “unconscious of time”, Delfina Delettrez shows a specific perspective of timelessness, which is strongly emphasized with pieces like bracelets designed like watch stripes but have jewelries on them instead of time panels. “Never too Light” was exhibited at Almine Rech Gallery within Paris Fashion Week and attracted a great deal of attention also for its off- beat display on rising and falling dinner plates.
ISTANBUL’74, which constitutes platforms in Istanbul in order to em- brace the most significant names from the world of culture, art, cin- ema and fashion is aiming to strengthen the perception of Istanbul as a hub for global events, and by acting as the principal international arts and cultural provider of Turkey by preserving the historical neighbourhoods of Istanbul with their own cultural DNA.
The debut gallery space of ISTANBUL’74 is housed in a 150-year-old business-inn located in a historical neigbourhood ‘Karakoy’. ISTANBUL’74 is now opens its second space in a 19th century building located in Galatasaray. The new location spreads over 380 square me- ters with 6-meter tall ceilings, impressive windows and original ceiling frescoes that have been carefully preserved.
