ISTANBUL’74 in collaboration with CLUBHOUSE BEBEK presents Anima Nova—an exhibition celebrating transformation, resilience, and the potential of new beginnings.

In a time marked by unprecedented global challenges and profound changes, Anima Nova emerges as a beacon of hope and renewal. The selected works each offer a unique perspective on the multifaceted nature of transformation, serving as testaments to the human spirit’s resilience and the ongoing pursuit of renewal. Through various techniques and materials, the selected works explore shared human experiences, while offering a cohesive exploration of transformation and the tension between contrasting elements.

Frank Nitsche, through layers of paint, develops a sophisticated visual language using geometric shapes and intersecting lines, creating abstract compositions reminiscent of construction plans, technical models, and digital design. Defne Tesal’s works focus on repetitive, rhythmic movements that slow down the fast pace of modern life. Merve İşeri’s works feature imaginative fictional languages intertwined with surreal forms and vibrant colors, creating dreamlike compositions that challenge conventional visual narratives. Clemens Wolf’s paintings capture the ephemeral beauty of decay and transience, evoking a sense of impermanence and transformation through industrial materials. Tevfik Çelebi’s sculptures combine organic forms with industrial materials, exploring the tension between nature and machinery while emphasizing balance and fluidity in static structures. Bahar Yürükoğlu’s works from the Flow Through series, inspired by her travels to the Arctic Circle, probes the boundaries between the natural and the artificial, presence and absence, and past and future, exploring cyclical movements and inevitable transformations. Together, they offer a multilayered dialogue on the intersections between form, memory, and change.
