FREEMAN & LOWE

Jonah Freeman & Justin Lowe (b. 1975, Santa Fe, New Mexico and 1976, Dayton, Ohio, respectively; live and work in New York City) have been collaborating on films and large-scale architectural installations since 2007. Their signature form of spatial collage has produced several interconnected projects that explore the connections between counterculture and industrial society. Fiction is often employed as a means of uncanny distortion in the depiction of specific social/historical environments. Their joint practice has led to acclaimed exhibitions at Aros Aarhus Art Museum, Denmark (2020); Marlborough Gallery, London, UK (2019); Museo Maat, Lisbon, Portugal; Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen, Denmark (2018), Ballroom, Marfa (2008); and Art Basel Unlimited, Basel, Switzerland (2013),  15th Istanbul Biennial, amongst others. Freeman & Lowe’s work has been widely featured in publications such as the Financial Times, Forbes, The New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Wallpaper Magazine, Huffington Post, Artforum, W Magazine, Architectural Digest, and New York Magazine.
