ISTANBUL’74 PRESENTS
“WE BELONG”
A GROUP EXHIBITION

ISTANBUL’74 is pleased to present the first exhibition to take place at its new space in Clubhouse Bebek which will serve as a platform for a diverse range of artistic showcases, programming, and a variety of performances and events. The group exhibition, entitled “We Belong” will be on view from 29 November to 15 January 2024 by appointment only.

In the current global landscape, marked by societal complexities and challenges, “WE BELONG” is a profound exploration of the fundamental human need to belong – to a place, a culture, a community. The group show attempts to offer different windows and pathways to intricate communal issues, raising questions related to the culture of belonging, connection, and community.

“WE BELONG” presents works by a core of exceptional local and international artists including Alper Aydın, Belkıs Balpınar, Mike Berg, Ekin Bernay, Burçak Bingöl, Cody Choi, Osman Dinç, Burcu Erden, Ahmet Doğu İpek, Işıl Kapu, Sinan Logie, Robert Montgomery, Argun Okumuşoğlu, Anselm Reyle, Sarkis, Nejat Satı, Kemal Seyhan, Bosco Sodi, Mehmet Ali Uysal, Jorinde Voigt, Berke Yazıcıoğlu, Erol Akyavaş, Nejad Devrim, Bedri Rahmi Eyüboğlu, JR & José Parlá, NOHLAB and :mentalKLINIK. Collectively, their work seeks to find novel ways to revive communities, fostering connections that transcend physical spaces, and cultural backgrounds.

WE BELONG, in collaboration with Galeri Nev İstanbul, Dirimart, Performistanbul, Galeri Bosfor, Sevil Dolmacı Gallery, Pi Artworks, Galeri Siyah Beyaz and Öktem Aykut, will be on view by appointment only.

Remember to note that December 2, 2023 is the last day to experience Ekin Bernay’s Resilient Responses and NOHLAB’s CLAIR-OBSCUR.
