Opening reception: Thursday, March 19th, from 6:00 to 8:00pm
“Istanbul has inspired me since my first visit in 2010. I love the mixture of voices and the mixture of cultures- the call to prayer at sunset mixing with the sound of Nirvana songs from the cafes of Galata for me sums up the wonderful cultural diversity and spirituality of the city. I was introduced to Istanbul 74 through their IST Festival, which I think is one of the most important festivals of contemporary culture in the world. I am delighted to return to Istanbul properly to work with Demet and the team for my first solo show in Turkey.”
