DICE KAYEK
Ece & Ayse Ege sisters were born in Bursa, at the heart of the first Ottoman capital brimming with prosperity & history. In 1992, after finishing her studies in fashion design at Esmod, Ece launched her fashion brand DICE KAYEK line with her sister Ayse, who has handled the management of the brand since.
Ece Ege defines her style, as “MODERN ROMANTIC.” It is feminine and free minded with just a little bit of eccentricity. The details of couture & work of art are perfectly accomplished codes of the label.
Founded in 1992 by Ece Ege & Ayse Ege, Dice Kayek’s universe is placed between tradition & modernity, between Paris and Istanbul, between luxury and sobriety… feminine and free minded with just a little bit of eccentricity.
Dice kayek’s creations are always full of originality and beyond fashion details making the brand out of reach of the time.
Luxury mix, playing with contrasts and designing sophisticated silhouettes for a modern tailoring.
PRESS RELEASE
ISTANBUL’74 LAUNCHES DICE KAYEK ISTANBUL CONTRAST’ BOOK AS PART OF THE VICTORIA AND ALBERT MUSEUM JAMEEL PRIZE 3.
Created and designed by ISTANBUL’74 with ’74STUDIO, the book tells the tale of Dice Kayek and its collection “Istanbul Contrast,” providing a foreword written by famed Turkish writer Elif Shafak. Standing at a crossroads between art, design and crafts, “Istanbul Contrast” tells a story through its display of opulent garments, sophisticated techniques and architectural forms. The story is of an inspiring paradox, bridging East and West, tradition and modernity. The book pays homage to Dice Kayek’s Victoria & Albert Museum’s Jameel Prize III nomination, going further to convey the designer’s portrayal of Istanbul’s rich diversity of culture and religions and their tribute to the city’s Islamic art and architectural heritage along with its up to date dynamism. Furthermore, “Istanbul Contrast” presents Dice Kayek’s designs and how it combines the traditional and the modern, the aesthetic of Istanbul, blending East and West perfectly, cultural and social contrasts and the Ottoman architecture and crafts tradition with contemporary forms.
“Dice Kayek, Istanbul Contrast” was launched with a special reception, held by ISTANBUL’74, in London on the evening of Wednesday, the 11th of December following the Victoria & Albert Museum’s Jameel Prize III exhibition, which was awarded to Dice Kayek. “Istanbul Contrast” shall be on sale at the Victoria and Albert Museum for the duration of the Jameel Prize 3 exhibition.
