Miss Jenny Holzer? She’s got you covered. The US artist will show her new stuff in an exhibition which will open at Blenheim Palace this autumn (28 September-31 December).
Holzer was born on July 29, 1950, in Gallipolis, Ohio. She attended Duke’s liberal arts program in ’68 and 2 years later she attended University of Chicago for a year. In 1972, Holzer completed her undergraduate work at Ohio University, Athens, with a bachelor’s degree in fine arts.
She began her series of public art texts in Whitney’s Independent Study Program around 1977. She is now the fourth contemporary artist to have a show at the palace after Michelangelo Pistoletto last year and Lawrence Weiner in 2015.
Although we are all excited for the visual show at the Blenheim Palace, we have few details about the work. According to a press statement “The exhibition will use augmented reality to explore the potential of the virtual space”.
